Is Golf a game or a sport? PDF Print E-mail

I’ve read and heard the debate over this friendship wrecking, Hatfield & McCoy question and I gotta’ say, “I really don’t care”; I truly enjoy the gam…uh, the spor…ah, the activity.

However, if I had to answer one way or the other I would definitely say it’s a sport.

Now before you write in with some 'Grade A Choice' words, just think about it logically.  If  you engage in a competitive activity that requires you to use most of your body where stretching and warm-up routines are necessary not to mention strengthening excises, it’s a “Sport”; that really should be the deciding factor if an activity is a sport or a game.

I am way ahead of you!  You were probably thinking “Well, what about SEX  GAMES where you are using your whole body (if you’re fortunate)”?

OK sex can be just that, a game; unless, you and your mate are competing against another couple but we are not here to discuss that topic.

However, (there's always a however) the only exception to the rule would be fishing.  I just don't see that as a sport; I'm sure the fish don't.  Even hunting and bowling require some strenuous movement but fishing?

As for "Golf", see ya' on the course Sport; now let the games begin! Cool
